During the month of February, 53,881 people flew out of Wichita Eisenhower National Airport, an increase of 23.31% over February 2022. The number of scheduled seats increased 19% which means demand is outpacing capacity. Total passengers were 107,771, an increase of 23.42% from last year. The February enplanements increased 114% over 2021 but were down 9% from February 2020 when travel demand was still strong. February passengers were down just 5% from February 2019. There were 27 average weekday departures in February compared to 24 last year.
Increased passengers lead to increased revenue. Food and gift concessions increased 25%; rental cars 13.59%, and parking 52%.
Outbound air cargo decreased 9% and inbound cargo was virtually flat.
