The City of Wichita’s Colonel James Jabara Airport is the region’s premier general aviation airport. With a 6,101 x 100 ft. (1,860 x 30 m) concrete runway, instrument landing system, over 270 acres of development space, wide-open airspace, clear skies and outstanding weather, Jabara has plenty of capacity to substantially increase your business!
Jabara Airport is located in an area ideally suited for both business and pleasure and is the home of the National Center for Aviation Training, Wichita Area Technical College, the Embraer business jet service center and a full service FBO operator with a Cessna service center. The area to the west of Jabara is home to many healthcare providers, manufacturing companies, distributors and corporate headquarters including: Figeac North America, Koch Industries, Lee Aerospace, and Mid-Continent Instruments. To the east is a rapidly-expanding sports and entertainment district which includes the Wichita Sports Forum, Thunderbird Firearms Academy, Bliss Bouldering and Climbing Complex, The Golf Warehouse, Cabela’s, and the Stryker Multi Sport Youth Complex. Shopping, hotels, restaurants, and corporate-level housing options are within five minutes of the airport. Nearby are three private country clubs: Willowbend, Wichita Country Club, and Crestview. Crestview hosts the PGA Web.com Air Capital Golf Classic each June. General aviation enthusiasts will appreciate the proximity to Textron Aviation’s nearby facility as well as close access to FlightSafety International training facilities.
