Check-in times can vary from airport to airport, and from airline to airline. A good rule of thumb is to arrive at your airport two hours prior to departure to allow time to park, check your bags, and proceed through TSA Security. It is highly recommended that you check-in online up to 24 hours before departure. If you are checking bags, it is recommended that you arrive at your airline ticket counter no less than 90 minutes prior to departure. If you have boarding pass and are not checking bags, you do not need to go to the ticket counter.
The TSA checkpoint is busiest between 4:30 am – 7:30 am when there are nine departures.
These are the check-in times for each airline at ICT:
- Alaska Airlines – Minimum required check-in without bags is 40 minutes for domestic, 60 minutes for international. - Allegiant Air – Check-in closes 45 minutes before departure. Checked baggage must be dropped off at the ticket counter at least 1 hour and no more than 2 hours before departure.
- American Airlines: Check in is strictly no less than 45 minutes prior to departure for domestic flights; 60 minutes for international. If you are in line less than 45 minutes prior to departure, you will not be able to check in or check your bag.
- Delta Air Lines: Delta has a strict 30-minute prior to departure to check in. If you are in line at the ticket counter 30 minutes or less prior to departure, you will not be able to check in or check bags. The aircraft door closes 15 minutes before departure.
- Southwest Airlines: Recommended check in is 90 minutes prior to departure for domestic, and 90 minutes for international. Check in at 45 minutes or less are considered late checks and there is no guarantee you will make your flight. https://www.southwest.com/airport-information/
- United Airlines: Check in at least 30 minutes before departure without bags; 45 minutes prior to departure with checked bags. However, allow enough time to get through security. Check in at least minutes before departure for international flights.
