Eisenhower Airport Reports Continued Growth in January

In January, passenger traffic at the airport experienced a robust growth of almost 7%, surpassing the figures from January 2023, with a total of 60,846 enplaned passengers. The overall count of arriving and departing passengers reached 122,853 during this period. The noteworthy expansion is largely credited to the introduction of new routes by American Airlines, connecting to Phoenix, Washington, DC, and Miami, along with Southwest Airlines providing daily service to Las Vegas. Increased passenger traffic at ICT significantly contributes to expanding the number of nonstop destinations.

The month also witnessed a substantial surge in flights, registering a notable increase of 17.6%, while seat capacity grew by 6.5%. However, there was a contrasting decline in total air cargo tonnage, experiencing a decrease of 14.27%.

Revenue from food and gift sales exhibited an impressive growth of 17% compared to the same period in the previous year. Additionally, both rental car revenue and parking revenue saw substantial upticks, marking an almost 8% increase.

Airport’s statistics can be found in Airport Business.
