Fly Southwest to Cancun

Southwest recently announced their latest flight schedule. This schedule brings new access and Southwest’s low fares to an incredible destination, just one stop from ICT. Starting Nov. 4, fly Southwest to Cancun with only one stop in St. Louis.

Cancún is one of the easternmost points of Mexico and is situated on the Caribbean Sea. “The Glistening City” offers many activities for tourists. Keep reading for some ideas.

  • Experience Chichen Itza, the number one attraction in the Yucatan. This site is the second most visited archaeological site in Mexico. Here you can explore Mayan ruins and see the iconic Castillo Pyramid.
  • Take a ferry ride to nearby Isla Mujeres. Here you can visit a turtle sanctuary, snorkel under crystal clear water and watch for dolphins. Affordable hotels and delicious food make it a great place for an overnight stay, too.
  • Visit the world’s most famous underwater sculpture museum. MUSA offers scuba divers and snorkelers an up-close look at more than 400 life-sized statues.
  • Celebrate Mexico’s rich culture at Xcaret Park. Xcaret offers much more than your typical theme park. Here you can float down three rivers that connect to the ocean and see flamingos, rock formations and fossils along the way. Then snorkel with stingrays and nurse sharks, or encounter wildlife at Manatee Lagoon and Jaguar Island. End your day with an incredible music show that takes you on a journey through Mexico’s history and features 300 artists.

Ready to go?

This new route will have you departing ICT in the early a.m. and arriving at CUN in mid-afternoon. The return flight departs Cancún late afternoon and lands you back in the Air Capital around 11 p.m. Both ways includes a stop in St. Louis. Use Southwest’s Low Fare Calendar for available dates.
