ICT – Future Home of Doc

ICT will soon be the home of Doc, the famous WWII-era B-29 bomber. Doc was built in Wichita in 1944, then in 2013 was restored here by a volunteer team known as “Doc’s Friends.” ICT will be the site of a new hangar that will double as a permanent home for Doc and an education center for the community. Visitors can see Doc, learn about Wichita’s role in aviation history and how STEM and aviation go hand in hand. The new hangar will be built on the east side of airport property, next to Yingling Aviation.

The Wichita City Council just approved a lease for the B-29 Doc Hangar and Education Center, and construction will begin soon. Read more about the new hangar and how you can get involved on the Doc’s Friends website.
