Delta Air Lines is bringing first class service to its Wichita – Atlanta and Wichita – Detroit routes. The enhancement means Delta customers can enjoy the benefits of First Class service on more domestic flights, and SkyMiles members will have more opportunities for upgrades to First Class seating. Delta, operated in Wichita by Atlantic Southeast Airlines, has reconfigured its CRJ-700 aircraft, normally holding 70 seats, to 65 seats, with 9 seats in First Class. With a seat pitch of 36”, passengers in First Class will have five more inches of leg room. The upgrade to Atlanta is already in effect.

The Detroit service will be upgraded to a CRJ-700 from a 50-seat CRJ, and with two cabins as well. This upgrade will be effective September 7. When the upgrade is complete, 50 routes that currently feature Delta Connection flights with only one class of service will be upgraded to two-cabin aircraft with First and Economy Class service.

Delta Air Lines began non-stop service to Detroit Metropolitan Airport on May 2, and added a second flight to Detroit on June 10.
