Mid-Continent Drive Bridges to Undergo Repairs

Beginning Monday, two Mid-Continent Drive bridges are scheduled to undergo rehabilitation and concrete pavement patching.  Mid-Continent Drive – northbound and southbound – will be reduced to a single lane so that crews can work on the Harry Street and Crossfield Road bridges.

Affected exit ramps are expected to be closed 14 days for the repairs and the project is expected to be completed by late September.

This ramp closure will affect access to the Park & Ride and cell phone lots.  Travelers will need to exit Mid-Continent Drive at Harry Street and follow detour signs to these lots.  The project will not interfere with access to the long-term and short-term parking lots or terminal building.

Airport tenants will also need to use the Harry Street exit from the southbound lane of Mid-Continent Drive, and will access Mid-Continent Drive from Harry Street when leaving the airport.

The work is designed to improve the road into the airport and to maintain the integrity of the bridges.  Dondlinger & Sons Construction Co. will do the work at an estimated cost of $859,000.  The cost of the project will be funded with airport revenue.
