Airport Authority Honored for Training Excellence

Date:  February 26, 2011

The Wichita Airport Authority is one of 39 airports nationwide to be honored by the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) for excellence in employee training.

An important supplement to the airport’s training program is through the AAAE Airport News and Training Network ANTN Digicast training program. Like many other commercial airports, the Wichita Airport Authority subscribes to this interactive program to supplement other training curriculum in areas such as security and safety, customer service, maintenance, airfield driving, operations, wildlife mitigation, construction safety, occupational safety, environmental compliance, law enforcement and aircraft rescue and firefighting. During 2010, Airport Authority employees racked-up an impressive total of more than 2,000 comprehensive training videos viewed and 1,593 interactive tests successfully completed.

An ANTN Excellence in Airport Training award signifies that an airport’s workers have completed a certain amount of federally-mandated airport-specific training and continuing education using ANTN Digicast’s Web-based training system.

“This demonstrates considerable initiative on the part of each of our employees who participated in the training, and exhibits dedication to training excellence. The Airport Authority expresses its sincere appreciation and thanks for their commitment to sustained training and continuous improvement,” said Victor White, Director of Airports.
