For the month of October, 72,382 people flew out of Wichita Eisenhower National Airport, an increase of 17.04% over last October. There were 144,616 total passengers for the month, an increase of 17.38%. For the year, total passengers have increased 22.58%. To date, enplanements are at 87% of 2019 levels.
Local general aviation (those operations performed by aircraft that remain in the local traffic pattern) showed a huge increase of 222.52% over last year. Air cargo fell roughly 8%
Revenue from food and gift sales increased 23.49%, rental cars increased 2.88%, and parking revenue increased 30.51%.
Airlines continue to upgauge aircraft to large regional jets and narrowbodies. There were 17.5% more seats and 4.8% more flights in October compared to October 2021. However, compared to October 2019, seats are down 6% and flights are down 13.8%.
