Bad weather could be on its way this week. If you’re at the airport when we are under threat of a tornado, you’ll need to know where to find the storm shelter. The airport’s shelter is located in the tunnel that connects the old terminal with the new terminal. During a tornado warning, look for Airport Police officers who will direct you to the shelter. There are two ways to access the shelter, depending on where in the terminal you are.
First Floor
To access our shelter from baggage claim and ticket counters areas, proceed to the east doors past baggage claim. Go through the sliding doors and go through the door to your right. Proceed down the stairs to the tunnel. An elevator is available for those who need it.
Concourse
To access our shelter from the security checkpoint and gate areas, locate the doorway between River City Brewing and Air Capital Market, just across from Air Capital Bar. Proceed through the hallway, through the double doors and down the stairs to the tunnel. An elevator is available for those who need it.
