Safe Travels to Florida

If you’re working from home and have a serious case of cabin fever, pack your laptop and head to Florida.  Although you might not get much work done while overlooking the ocean.  Or maybe your family is restless from a lack of adventure and the same old scenery. Or perhaps you need a couples getaway. Whatever the case, Florida is sure to satisfy.

Florida’s theme parks are open and there are no travel safety advisories in effect.   Refer to this Travel Information for theme park updates. Florida does urge that you exercise safety precautions in public, social distancing, do not gather in groups, avoid crowded places and mass gatherings, wear a cloth face covering.

There are plenty of activities you can do where you can social distance, such as:

  • Paddleboarding in South Walton
  • Zip lining and cycling in Ocala
  • Kiteboarding in St. Petersburg
  • Hiking in Florida Caverns State Park
  • Explore the Coral Reef at Key Largo
  • Horseback riding in Amelia Island
  • Snorkeling in Dry Tortugas National Park
  • Swimming in the freshwater springs at Rock Springs Run
  • Sail fishing in Martin County

Enjoy fresh seafood, farm-to-table restaurants, wineries, breweries, and specialty cuisines.  Eat your lunch or dinner on a boat cruise while watching dolphins and viewing beautiful mansions and historic landmarks.  Bring your golf clubs.  Florida has more golf courses per capita than any other place in the U.S.

Southwest recently announced nonstop service to Houston Hobby Airport during the holiday season.  Days of operation are:   Nov. 23, 24, 25, 29, 30; Dec. 23, 27; Jan. 3.   The Houston flight will connect you to Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, and Tampa (as well as other destinations). American, Delta, Southwest and United serve several Florida destinations year-round.
