Passenger growth continues at ICT, with an increase of 5% in total passengers in October 2018 compared to October 2017. For the month, 151,180 passengers flew in and out of ICT, compared to 143,990 last year. For the year, total passenger traffic is up 2.23% at 1,379,617.
The passenger count is a new October record and is 7,190 passengers higher than the former record set in 2017.
Frontier Airlines, which began nonstop service to Denver August 30, has boosted ridership with their ultra-low fares. United has competed with lower fares to Denver as well. These lower fares plus a 7% increase in capacity have contributed to the increase.
Cargo increased 9.62% and for the year is up 5.97%. Rental car receipts show a huge increase in October with a 14.92% over last October; for the year, rental cars receipts are up 10.59%. Food and gift receipts increased 8% in October and are 4% higher year-to-date.
