Visit for the food, the fun, the farewells. No boarding pass needed.
Have you ever wished you could meet a loved one at the gate when they arrive? Want to spend a little more time with family before they depart? Or maybe you just want an excuse to grab a bite to eat while watching planes out the terminal windows.
Now you can.
Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport (ICT) is introducing Gateside by TSA PreCheck®, giving eligible visitors the opportunity to access the airport’s post-security area without a departing flight.
Those who enjoy TSA PreCheck benefits can apply for a Gateside pass and, once approved, head beyond the security checkpoint just like a ticketed traveler. That means you can meet arriving family and friends at their gate, accompany departing travelers before saying goodbye, or simply enjoy the airport’s post-security dining and shopping options.
How Gateside Works
Planning ahead is required. Visitors must request a Gateside pass online one to three days before their planned visit. Once approved, Gateside visitors will go through security screening using a TSA PreCheck lane before entering the concourse.
A Gateside pass does not replace a boarding pass and cannot be used for air travel. It simply gives approved visitors access to the secure side of the terminal for their scheduled visit.
For Wichita travelers and their families, Gateside brings back a little of the airport experience many remember from years ago: the chance to make the arrival or departure itself part of the moment.
So, whether you’re planning a warm welcome, stretching out a goodbye or just looking for a different place to grab a meal and watch the airplanes, ICT’s gates are a little more accessible.
