Kansas Honor Flights Resume this Fall

The Kansas Honor Flights will resume this fall after being suspended last year due to COVID-19. Ten Honor Flights are scheduled beginning August 25 through November 5. The Honor Flight organization is comprised of volunteers that work to honor veterans of World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Donations from generous Kansans make it possible to provide an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, DC. While in Washington, they will visit their Memorials, Arlington National Cemetery, and Fort McHenry. The welcome home celebration is the highlight of their trip when they are greeted with cheers upon arrival in Wichita.

All but two of the welcome home celebrations will be held in the terminal. The welcome home celebration for the two charter flights, Sept. 28 and Oct. 19, will be held in the ballroom of the DoubleTree Hotel.

The return flight schedule is as follows:

Friday, Aug. 27 – 1:20 pm

Friday, Sept. 3 – 1:20 pm

Friday, Sept. 10 – 1:00 pm

Friday, Sept. 17 – 1:00 pm

Tuesday, Sept. 28 – 2:00 pm (celebration at DoubleTree)

Friday, Oct. 8 – 1:25 pm

Friday, Oct. 15 – 1:25 pm

Tuesday, Oct. 19 – 2:00 pm (celebration at DoubleTree)

Friday, Oct. 29 – 11:50 am
