July Passenger Traffic Soars to New High

Wichita Eisenhower National Airport reached an all-time record high in July, with 189,533 total travelers.  The milestone surpasses the previous record of 176,506 total passengers set in June, marking a 5% increase.   Year-to-date, total passenger traffic is up 1.97%.

July enplanements came in at 95,319, a 6.79% increase over July 24.  This is the first time enplanements have broken through the 90,000 mark.  For the month, passenger traffic increased 7.38% over July 2024.

 

The airlines added 14% more seats and flights this year than last.  The destinations with the most increases include:

  • Atlanta 25%
  • Denver 16%
  • Houston 16%
  • Minneapolis 84%
  • Chicago 40%
  • Destin 50%
Several events that occurred in Wichita in July contributed to the record month:

• TBT (The Basketball Tournament)
• National Baseball Congress
• Babe Ruth League Midwest Regional Tournament
• Mid America Youth Basketball (MAYB)
• Midwest Deaf Golfers Association
