ICT to Begin Terminal Renovations

[Wichita, Kansas] – Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport (ICT) will begin terminal renovations on Tuesday, January 5, 2026. The project will include a reconfiguration of the ticketing counters, with every effort made to minimize impacts to passengers during construction.

“This renovation allows us to better utilize our existing ticketing space while also preparing for future growth,” said Rachel Mayberry, Air Service and Marketing Manager. “Although we are working to limit any disruption, we continue to encourage passengers to arrive at the airport with enough time to feel comfortable before their flight.”

The project is funded through a combination of recently announced state program funds, along with federal and local matching dollars. The primary goal of the renovation is to improve efficiency and maximize the use of existing space to create additional capacity for the future.

Most of the work will take place in the evenings and behind the scenes and will focus on infrastructure and technology upgrades. However, some passenger-facing improvements are included, such as modifications and extensions to the ticketing counters and security enhancements to the exit lane.

Construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
