March 27, 2019

ICT Reports Strong Passenger Traffic in February

Passenger traffic increased 7.79% in February, with 114,151 total passengers flying in and out of ICT.  For the year, passenger traffic is up 4.89%.  The increase is impressive due to the 22 cancellations during the month because of weather.  Capacity (number of seats) also increased 8.9% in February over last year.

Air cargo tons also showed a big increase, with 899 tons shipped out, and 1,459 tons shipped in, for a total increase of 13.58% over February 2018.

Food and gift receipts increased 10.32%, rental cars increased 6.91%, and parking revenue increased 9.34% over last year.

Low fares to Denver on Frontier Airlines, which began service to Denver August 30, 2018, certainly has helped fuel the growth.
