Planning a trip? New data from the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) gives Wichita travelers another reason to fly local. In its Q1 2025 report, BTS revealed that the average fare from Wichita Eisenhower National Airport (ICT) was $456.25—lower than Kansas City, Oklahoma City, and Tulsa, the three main airports with which ICT competes.
The Q1 2025 airfare is up slightly—just 2% compared to Q1 2024—but Wichita still comes out ahead when compared to nearby airports. When you fly out of Kansas City, Oklahoma City, or Tulsa, you pay more than just the ticket. Consider the cost of gas, tolls, overnight parking, and hotel stays—not to mention the time lost driving, navigating unfamiliar terminals, and standing in longer security lines. By the time you’re boarding, any savings you thought you had are gone.
Want proof? Try our Trip Cost Calculator to see how much you’ll really spend flying out of another city. Most of the time, Wichita is not only the more convenient choice—it’s the more affordable one, too.
And if you choose to drive to another airport for a nonstop flight, your drive is your connection and you’re probably not saving any time either.
Skip the road trip. Fly ICT and save where it counts.
