Wichita Eisenhower National Airport experienced its busiest March on record, with 71,732 passengers departing from the airport during the month. The figure represents a 3.28% increase in enplanements compared to March 2024, while scheduled airline seats rose by 2%. The previous March record occurred in 2019, with 71,704 enplanements.
Despite the strong monthly performance, year-to-date enplanements are down slightly by 0.66%. Airport officials noted that the decline is partially due to 2024 being a leap year, which added an extra day to February.
A surge in spring break travel and increased demand tied to the NCAA basketball tournament contributed to the record-setting month.
Revenue from food and gifts increased 6.55%, parking revenue increased 4.33%, but rental car revenue has a slight decrease of -.48%.
