After celebrating the strongest first quarter in airport history, Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport (ICT) has continued its historic momentum. The second quarter of 2026 has also set a new record, making the first half of the year the strongest six-month period ever recorded at ICT.
Building on the airport’s record-setting first quarter, continued demand for air travel throughout the spring and early summer pushed passenger activity to new heights. The sustained growth reflects a community that continues to travel more frequently for business, leisure, and to visit friends and family, while benefiting from expanded air service options and strong airline partnerships.
“Breaking one quarterly record is exciting. Breaking two in a row demonstrates that this is more than a temporary trend,” said Jesse Romo, Director of Airports. “The continued growth at ICT reflects the strength of our community and our region’s economy. Every passenger choosing to fly from Wichita helps reinforce the demand for additional air service and future opportunities.”
The airport has experienced steady growth over the past several years, culminating in a record-setting 2025 that welcomed more than 1.8 million passengers. The first half of 2026 has continued that trajectory, with consecutive record-breaking quarters underscoring ICT’s role as a vital transportation hub for south-central Kansas.
