The Bureau of Transportation Statistics released its fourth quarter 2025 average airfare report on Tuesday, April 15. The fares are based on a sampling of 10% of tickets and include round-trips, and one-way tickets if no return is purchased.
In the fourth quarter of 2024, the average domestic airfare at Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport (ICT) dipped slightly by 1%, falling to $446.72 from $448.99 during the same period in 2023. In contrast, the national average saw a 3% increase, rising to $398 from $384.85.
When compared to similar regional airports, Wichita’s airfares remain right around average.
Wichita travelers are also benefiting from lower prices than before the pandemic. The current average fare is 8% lower than in Q4 2019, when it was $485.96.
A record number of passengers passed through ICT in 2024, driven by growing travel demand. This surge is helping attract more flights, boosting competition among airlines—and ultimately contributing to lower ticket prices for travelers.
