Engineering firm Garver LLC is expanding at Wichita Eisenhower National Airport. Garver joined the airport campus in 2016, leasing space at 2120 Airport Road. Since that time, Garver’s local staff have grown from 1 employee to 35 employees. Because of their growth, Garver is expanding and has leased 17,634 sq. ft. of space in the facility located at 1995 Midfield Road, formerly the AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association) building. Garver made an investment of over $900,000 for capital improvements, replacements, alterations, and upgrades to the property. The facility includes offices and conference rooms with state-of-the-art technology and an impressive employee break area. Garver moved into the newly renovated Airport office building in November 2021, relocating from its previous location on the east side of Wichita. They have met their intent for Garver to have one primary location in Wichita that allows for continued growth of up to 60 local staff.
Garver’s Wichita Office Leader Chris Bohm says that Garver’s local growth is tied to multiple areas of focus. That includes its work on the Eisenhower Legacy Transportation Program for the Kansas Department of Transportation; engineering services on the city’s Northwest Water Treatment Facility and a wastewater reclamation project for the City of Wichita; design work on multi-year General Aviation Apron Reconstruction project at the Wichita Eisenhower National Airport and various project at Jabara; and continued work with federal agencies and facilities like McConnell Air Force Base.
The Airport leases land and facilities to aviation-related businesses as well as government organizations. In return, tenants receive attractive long-term leases, property tax exemptions.
