Eisenhower Airport Sets Record November

Wichita Eisenhower National Airport achieved a new milestone in November by breaking its passenger record for the month. A total of 150,681 passengers traveled in and out of ICT, a 4% increase over the previous record set in 2018, which had 145,195 total passengers.  November’s passenger count rose by 11.44% compared to the same month the previous year, contributing to a year-to-date increase of 12.15%.

The introduction of new nonstop services to Phoenix and Miami by American Airlines, along with Southwest Airlines resuming daily service to Las Vegas, played a significant role in driving passenger demand.

Concession revenue, including food and gifts, experienced a notable increase of 16.81%, while rental cars saw a 3.4% growth, and parking revenue rose by 12.54%.

However, air cargo faced a decline during the month, with outbound cargo tonnage dropping by 17.2% and inbound cargo tonnage decreasing by 14.37%. Yearly figures indicate an overall decrease in total air cargo tonnage by 12.28%.
