Wichita Eisenhower National Airport reports that 137,207 passengers arrived and departed ICT in August, a 10.22% increase over August 2021. Enplanements were up 9.93% with 66,604 departing ICT. Year-to-date enplanements increased 23.84%, at 492,602, and passengers departing and arriving total 989,173, up 24.28%. August 2022 traffic was 91% of August 2019’s traffic, which was a record year.
There were 28 average weekday departures in August compared to 30 in August 2021. Flights were down 2.2% but seats increased 8.8% compared to last August, as more flights are being operated by larger aircraft. In August, 51% of flights were operated by narrowbody aircraft compared to 34% last August.
General aviation activity was busy, increasing 46.53% over last year. Military operations show a large increase of 56.06% over last August. Outbound air cargo was strong at 36.06% over last year, but inbound air cargo was down 20.3%.
Revenue from food and gifts increased 13.45%, rental car revenue increased 8.47%, and parking revenue increased 34.09%.
