August Passengers Set Record for ICT

In August, a total of 146,383 passengers arrived or departed Wichita Eisenhower Airport, marking the busiest August on record.   The August passenger traffic increased almost 4% over August 2017.  Year-to-date passengers are up 1.46% at 1,092,598.  Previous to this year, the busiest August occurred in 2007 when there were 141,444 total passengers.

The increase is even more remarkable in that there were 3% fewer seats in August compared to last August.  There were 34 average weekday flights in August compared to 36 in August 2017.  With the addition of Frontier Airlines to ICT, the airport is on track for another record year.

Air cargo tonnage increased 11.8% in August with 2,188 tons handled.  Year-to-date, 17,489 tons have been handled, an increased of 4.28%.
