In September, Wichita Eisenhower National Airport set a new record with 77,628 passengers boarding flights—the highest number ever recorded for the month. This marks the seventh consecutive month of record-breaking traffic. Total passenger counts reached 157,303, up 7.47% from last September, with enplanements increasing 7%. Year-to-date, total passenger numbers are up 2.98%.
The airport also saw a 12% increase in flights and a 15% increase in available seats compared to last year, driven by a 64% rise in large regional jet usage and a 3% increase in narrowbody aircraft. Meanwhile, 50-seat regional jets have nearly disappeared from the market, dropping 86%.
Concessions and services also performed strongly—food and gift sales climbed 20.72%, rental car revenue rose 2.84%, and parking revenue jumped 13.04% compared to September 2024.
